Transportation accounts for about a quarter of Kentucky’s total energy consumption.

Assessing transportation for energy saving opportunities makes sense on individual, organizational, business and government levels.  The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Department of Energy (DOE), and private research institutions have developed a number of suggestions and assessment tools to assist in analysis.  Links to these sites are below, as are links to examples and suggestions submitted by people in the Bluegrass.

Whether you consider these issues as an individual  or on behalf of a larger institution, the approaches are similar.
